Reactive Scent Work
Instructors: Susan Sampson LVT, CPDT-KA
Special Requirements: For dogs who have had a behavior consult and/or reactive classes, and who may be too reactive for traditional scent classes. Dogs must be crated during this class. Additional Information: Dogs will be introduced to birch, cypress, anise, and clove scents and learn how to work various search areas following AKC Scent Work set-ups. This class starts at the novice level. Please bring a kennel for your dog if you have one, and blankets or a sheet to cover their view of the other dogs working. We will have limited kennels available to borrow. Please bring some small, tasty treats that your dog is excited to work for. We recommend having 2-3 different value treats to use while working your dog in their crate, working the scent problem, and transporting them in and out of the classroom. You may also want to bring a long-lasting chew (stuffed kong, chew stick, etc.) for your dog to work on in their crate while they are waiting their turn. |
