Reactive Agility
Instructors: Susan Sampson LVT, CPDT-KA, Amy Tanna, CPDT-KA
Special Requirements: For dogs who may be too reactive for traditional agility classes. Dogs must be crated during this class. Additional Information: Handlers will learn foundation skills as well as how to run a course with their dogs. Tips to keep dogs calm and quiet while waiting, how to maintain focus on the course, and exercises to work on their reactivity from their crates will be covered. Please bring a kennel for your dog if you have one, and blankets or a sheet to cover their view of the other dogs working. We will have limited kennels available to borrow. Please bring some small, tasty treats that your dog is excited to work for. We recommend having 2-3 different value treats to use while working your dog in their crate, running the course, and transporting them in and out of the classroom. You may also want to bring a long-lasting chew (stuffed kong, chew stick, etc.) for your dog to work on in their crate while they are waiting their turn or you are walking the course. |
